Skipper Danny Hall won the toss on a lovely day at Spye Park and inserted the home side into bat.
This paid off immediately, with Hall taking a wicket with the first ball which was swiftly followed by a second in the same over. Wickets fell at regular intervals with Spye struggling to find a partnership of any substance throughout their innings and left in dismay at 45-9 off 28 overs. Enter number 11 who with a little determination and an extensive knowledge of cow corner, almost doubled the score before falling to Smith's bowling courtesy of an excellent catch by Paul Wilson in the deep leaving the visitors a target of 88 for victory.
Teas were lovely!
G. Long and P.Wilson opened the innings for Bradford, Long fell to the second ball after being dropped off the first. Hall then came in and formed a match winning partnership of 83 with Paul wilson (Hall 61 N.O & Wilson N.O 22) to see Bradford on Avon second eleven home comfortably in 17 overs.
24 points attained and 2nd place in division 5. A good result on a great day for cricket.
