Nationwide House v Bradford on Avon Cricket Club First Eleven on Sat 31 Jul 2021 at 13:00
Bradford on Avon Cricket Club Won By 16 Runs (D/L)

Match report On a cloudy day, stand in skipper Matthew Harrington lost the toss and were duly inserted by the home captain.
Runs were hard to come by at the start with Nationwide's bowlers swinging the ball at will. James Edwards (4) and Tony Burrows (9) both fell lbw as BOA struggled to get going early on, battling to the drinks interval at 62-2 from 22 overs. Jon Moss fell first ball after drinks for 20 which then paved the way for Lewis Green and Matthew Harrington to put together an excellent 102 run partnership which started to swing the game in BOA's favour. Green was to fall for an excellent 63 including 6 fours and 4 sixes whilst Harrington held the innings together at the other end.
The remaining BOA batsmen all contributed with little cameos including Johnson (14), Lakin (12), Farion (14*). Harrington fell in 40th over for a well made 61.
The score of 222-8 was very decent in bowler friendly conditions.
In reply, BOA were to take some early wickets which left the home side up against it. Tony Burrows taking a screamer at square leg in the first over to set the standard of the innings.
A dangerous 4th wicket partnership between Clarke and Kumar threatened for a while but an excellent piece of fielding from Smart (Junior) ensured a run out was completed. He followed this with his first BOA 1st team wicket, clean bowling the dangerous Quereshi.
Whilst Clarke was in, Nationwide still had a chance of victory. However, with the game swaying back to the home side Clarke managed to hit a tracer missile of a shot straight at Smart (Senior) at cover which he graciously pouched making a difficult catch look easy and departed for an excellent 78. With that, the game was won for BOA. A few more wickets were picked up and when a heavy downpour of rain ended the game at 37.1 overs, BOA were 16 runs ahead on D/L and secured the win.
An excellent, competitive game played in great spirit with two very good umpires on show. The post match BBQ and beers laid on by Nationwide was excellent and the hospitality massively appreciated.
