BoA Cricket - Culver Close & Victory Field Consultation - Sat 11 Sep

07 Sep 2021

Dear Players and Parents,

This Saturday there will be a consultation on the future use of Culver Close and the Victory Field in the centre of Bradford on Avon.

This consultation will include information about a proposed new eco-pavilion as well as offering the chance for the cricket club to discuss the proposed cricket nets with local residents.

As I’m sure you’re aware, there has been some resistance to our recent planning application for the nets which resulted in us agreeing to withdraw our application to allow this consultation event to take place. We are obviously now very keen to make sure that positive voices are heard as part of the consultation event.

It would be a huge help, and influence the chances of a successful planning application, if you could attend the consultation this Saturday (11th) from 2-4pm at St Margaret’s Hall, Bradford on Avon, BA15 1DE.

You don’t need to attend the whole event, and can simply pop in for 5 minutes to view the presentations and make your comments.

Some points you may wish to stress when supporting the nets and pavilion project, include:

  • BOA CC is growing rapidly, particularly the youth cricket. We need the nets and improved facilities to encourage these boys & girls to continue with cricket and sport
  • BOA CC have started a women’s team this summer, and hope to grow this next year, meaning more facilities are needed
  • Anything which encourages young people in BOA to engage with sport will have a beneficial impact on their physical and mental health.

You do not need to live in BOA to comment on the consultation, simply being a user of the facilities is enough for your opinion to carry weight.

If you are unable to make the consultation on Saturday, can we ask that you email your support for the nets and pavilion to council directly. The best email address is office@bradfordonavontowncouncil.gov.uk.

A short supporting statement is all that’s needed and it can be a sentence or two, but please feel free to elaborate if you wish.

Thanks again for your continued support as we look to grow our amazing club in a sustainable way!
