Bradford on Avon Cricket Club Won by 3 wickets

Match report BoA won by 3 wickets. The final game of the season where BoA needed just 9 points to guarantee promotion from Wilts Div 3. Having won the toss on a day that was likely to be rain affected BoA chose to bowl. Before play could start, an hours play was lost due to rain and each innings reduce to 41 overs per side. The BoA bowlers bowled fairly well at the start but just failed to bowl enough balls in the right areas allowing Keevil to tick along at 4 an over. Regular bowling changes saw the fall of wickets throughout the innings that prevented Keevil from gaining momentum with Jon Moss (3-27), Dean Bird (2-25) and Josh Tadman (1-10) all doing their bit. A great over the shoulder catch from Tony Burrows running around from short fine leg was catch of the innings and another to add to his book of bedtime stories. Taking pace off the ball had yet again worked it's magic allowing Bertie Kennedy (2-39) and Vooght (1-23) to take late wickets and dismiss Keevil for 175.

In reply, BoA got off to a rare flying start with Chris Thompson (19) and Matt Harrington (29) punishing anything off line. Bizarrely Chris Thompson was run out by 1st slip, but Chris was still practicing his shot when the throw came in caught him just out of his ground. Tony Burrows compiled a steady 53* that glued the innings together with a few low partnerships with Bertie (19) and Jon Moss (13) that saw BoA reach the winning score with 3 overs to spare. Not our finest innings but nevertheless we got there in the end.
