Bradford on Avon Cricket Club Lost by 12 runs
Match report
Monton Coombe won the toss and elected to bat. Kit Chapman impressed early on with a good spell of fast bowling, with opening partner Dan Tadman taking wickets at the other end. Captain Bowden anchored the Monkton Coombe innings and retired on 40. Bradford on Avon gave debuts to both James Smith and Andy Irving who performed will with the ball. Bradford's fielding was impressive throughout, with Josh Tadman taking an early contender for catch of the season. Monkton Coombe made a good total of 125 with the help of some late hitting by Coombe.
In reply, the accurate early bowling of Monkton Coombe made runs hard to come by. Guy Tadman batted through the innings to make a well deserved 44 not out aided by some good hitting from Kit Chapman. Batting in very gloomy conditions for the last 5 overs, Bradford got close to the Monkton Coombe total, but after 20 overs fell 12 runs short.
