Bradford on Avon Cricket Club Won By 122 Runs

Match report Bradford on Avon won the toss and batted first on another excellent wicket at Culver Close. Beckington got an early breakthrough with the wicket of inform Ian Pinchen for just 5. A second wicket partnership of 104 between Matthew Harrington and Paul Vooght put Bradford into the ascendency. Harrington was the man removed to end the stand, with 46 runs to his name. At this point Vooght went into full flow and put his foot on the accelerator. Mixing hard hitting with exemplary running between the wickets, Vooght powered his way to a maiden league hundred. He wasn't done there however as he relentlessly despatched the Beckington bowling to all parts of the sun soaked ground. By the time he was dismissed in the 44th over he had amassed 160 runs from just 122 balls, hitting 21 fours and 5 sixes along the way. Bradford's total of 275 from their overs was a big score for Beckington to chase.
The Beckington reply got off to a bad start with skipper Wilson dismissed for a duck off the bowling of Kit Chapman. David Carter took two wickets, rewarded for his perseverance. However, the prize wicket was that of Josh Dwight who looked in good form until he was adjudged LBW off the bowling of Laws for 13. It was then left to spinner Dean Bird to bowl his way through the Beckington batting line up. He took the remainder of the wickets to finish with 6-32 from 7.2 overs, an impressive performance from him too. Bradford eventually bowled the opposition out for 152 to record a 122 run victory.
Next week Bradford host Lacock and will be looking to avenge the defeat they suffered in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
