Bradford on Avon Cricket Club Won By 142 Runs

Match report Bradford on Avon secured their second league victory of the season on Saturday with a fine team performance at Swindon Civil Service. Batting first, Bradford posted an impressive 228-6 from their 45 overs with wicket keeper Ian Pinchen (56) and club stalwart Paul Vooght (97) leading the way. Their partnership for the 2nd wicket was worth 145 runs in 28 overs. Two wickets apiece for Ben Batchelor, Mark Thatcher and Scott McNeill was the best Swindon Civil Service could muster. Vooght's 97 included 15 fours as he fell agonisingly 3 runs short of his first ever league hundred.
In reply, the home side's innings faltered early on with Matthew Harrington picking up 2 early wickets, including the dangerous Ronnie Fernandez. From there, Bradford continued to take wickets at regular intervals and Swindon Civil Service were never in the game. Ivan Braganza the sole positive with 36. Further wickets were accounted for from Dave Carter 3-22 from 6 overs, Matt Knight 3-18 from 6.2 and Dean Bird 2-9 from 2.
Bradford on Avon took 24 points from the victory and look forward to a tough battle next week against Box.
