Match report Nationwide House batted first and accumulated an above par 238-9 on a good track at Bradford on Avon. Leading the way was away skipper Jon Clarke with an aggressive 82 from 56 balls, dispatching anything short over the boundary. Pick of the bowling was Tony Laws with 4-50 from 12 overs and Matthew Harrington 3-37 from 7.
In reply a magnificent opening partnership of 137 between Ian Pinchen (52) and Matthew Harrington (74) laid the foundations for an unlikely chase. Ably assisted by middle order batsmen Simon Richards (35) and James Edwards (19) put Bradford in charge. However a flurry of wickets and run outs put Nationwide back in with a chance. However with 3 needed to win from the final ball of the game Chris Hotchen was able to steer the ball into the deep and scamper through for 2 runs therefore levelling the scores. A tied match resulted which was probably a fair result with both sides having failed to grasp their chance for victory.
A great game of cricket superbly umpired by Keith Candow and Jack Woodward.
