Bradford on Avon Cricket Club Lost By 17 Runs

Match report Malmesbury won the toss and chose to bat and immediately carried on the form from the previous week with the impressive young player James Gillespie scoring fluently with an innings of 97 which was supported firstly by a belligerent innings of 57 from Jack Ward and James Gaunt with an innings of 45 until run out from a direct run out courtesy of Adam Cooksey. Bradford toiled hard in the sun using seven bowlers and did well to peg back the Malmesbury innings to 254 off of their 45 over allocation. Bradford made a positive start with Ian Pinchen(34) and for the first time this season the middle order combined to make a serious attempt to overhaul the hosts total with Nick Gerrish (48),Tony Laws (25),Adam Cooksey (23) and the ever dependable Matthew Harrington (47). Bradford fell short by the margin of 17 runs as the promising Josh Langley(4 for 38) bowled well in the closing overs in what was a very competitive game.
