Last year we had 19 girls within our ranks (from u11s to u6s) enjoying learning to play cricket here in the town. Many of these girls went on to play within mixed teams at u9s tournaments and a few played in u11s friendlies and league matches.

Since the Club first created the latest incarnation of the Development Plan in 2012, we recognised that one day it would be good if we could provide girls-only cricket matches. Well we think that time has come and its essential that we do this to grow our numbers further and avoid losing our talented players as they get older.
So from 2016 we will organised a variety of girls-only fixtures. This will be both ‘orange ball’ kwik cricket triangular tournaments for u9s and some hard ball 8-a-side cricket for u11s.
We’ve already made contacts with other local Bath & District Youth League based-clubs including Winsley, Hinton Charterhouse, Marshfield and Hampset. We will also canvass interest from other local Wiltshire Youth Cricket League affiliated clubs.
Training will continue to be held on a Friday evening in 2016 (from 8th April) and will be mixed sessions with boys and girls training together. We will review the situation with the aim in future to provide separate training for our girls squad. One of the major drivers for this is to find an ECB qualified coach and squad manager to lead this group. If anyone is interested in this role, please contact Paul Vooght,Youth Manager. The Club will be able to financially assist in the cost of undertaking the ECB UKCC2 Coach Education Course for this position.
