Bradford on Avon Cricket Club Won by 6 wkts

Match report BoA won by 6 wkts. Having won the toss (3rd time in 3 weeks!), BoA decided to bowl first on a dry track and warm sunny day. All 5 bowlers bowled tightly which constrained a competitive Chip3 side from scoring too quickly. Special mention to Josh Tadman who yet again bowled well and to Jon Moss (2 wkts) and Dean Bird (3 wkts) for helping to deny Chip3 in the middle overs. Yet again Chris Thompson took 3 catches behind the stumps including a steepling high catch off of Tom Wade to give him his first wkt of the season. The fielding was generally of a high standard although our extras were high (12 wides bowled) and there were 2 dropped catches and a few misfields here and there. However, to restrict Chip3 below 200 was a great effort and perhaps 20-30 runs short of a challenging total.

In reply, opening duo of Matt Harrington (29) and Chris Thompson (41) put on 77 for the first wicket and gave the innings momentum. A second partnership of 55 between Tony Burrows (53*) and the destructive Lewis Green (42) helped regain the lead after the Chip3 spinners had removed our openers. Stu Brockwell (6) was well caught on the boundary by Chip3's Josh Barrow who slid forward and caught him a few inches from the ground. The well timed run chase ended with 3 overs to spare with Paul Vooght (13*) and Tony Burrows finding the boundary on regular occasions as Chip3 squeezed in to stop singles.
